Only very rarely do the many random circumstances involved conspire together to allow this to happen.
One is forced to ask, “just where has this been?”
The coin is a sheer miracle survivor and is “as struck” mint state.
Thus it looks exactly the same as it did on the day it was stuck in 1658. On the day this coin left the dies, Oliver Cromwell was The Lord Protector and King Charles I had only been dead for nine years since his execution in January 1649.
This ultra rare example displays totally uncompromising quality and exhibits all its original razor sharp detail with zero wear or contacts on either the obverse or reverse.
The edge legend, denticulation and rim are equally perfect.
This magnificent specimen displays an undisturbed, discreet & superbly even cobalt grey-purple tone over it’s totally original, flashy and unmarked undersurfaces.
